Pilates-Based Physical Therapy

I believe that physical therapy should be FUN, MEANINGFUL, and EMPOWERING.

If you’re ready for a new kind of physical therapy with a PT who cares, check this out!

Physical therapy is a tried and true means of restoring the body’s function.

Pilates is a holistic method of exercise that restores the body, centers the mind, and boosts the spirit with healthy movements.

At Mindful Pilates and Wellness, Physical Therapy is offered through the means of Pilates-based exercises. What does this mean for you? A more holistic, comprehensive approach to helping you recover and restore function.

Typical injuries or conditions treated in Pilates-Based Physical Therapy are similar to those treated in your traditional outpatient Physical Therapy clinic. The benefit, though, is that your body is treated as a whole and sessions take place on the Pilates equipment, making for fun, meaningful, and effective sessions!

What you can expect in Pilates-Based Physical Therapy sessions with Mindful Pilates and Wellness:

  • An initial physical therapy evaluation to determine your needs, limitations, goals, and plan of care

  • Follow up 55-minute, one-on-one sessions with an NC-licensed Physical Therapist (me, Ashley Prulliere)

This is for you if you:

  • Want to rehab, heal, or fix an injury

  • Are limited by pain (chronic or acute)

  • Want to reduce the chances of re-injury

  • Have been getting hurt more than usual

  • Don’t want to be on painkillers

  • Would like to be on less medication overall

  • Are concerned about aging

  • Would like to exercise in a way that’s safe for YOU

  • Are ready to regain control of your body

Please know: For best results, it is recommended that you attend physical therapy regularly to start. This is largely because in Pilates-Based Physical Therapy, we are working on creating healthy movement patterns, improved motor firing, and a heightened sense of body awareness and alignment. This all involves neuromuscular re-education, and this takes consistency, dedication, and time.

Please also know: Mindful Pilates and Wellness is a fee-for-service studio. This means that I do not take insurance. To read more about how this can be beneficial to you and to learn about receiving a Good Faith Estimate for PT services, please click below!
